Vishesha Chakrabjapooja

Chakrabja pooja performed on Chakrabja mandalam is highly sacred and is venerated in the agama sastras. The Chakrabja mandalam is a pictorial representation of the lord Narayana and his body as per vedic calculations and measurement ratios in relation with the whole universe. Just as sreechakra is to Sri Tripura Sundari, Chakrabja mandalam is the embodiment of Sree Narayana.

In the Chakrabja mandalam the adidesha is depicted as sanksharana moorthy eyes placed on the two sides of his hood is depicted as plough, naval as seasons and 12 months as scales , kalachakra with 360 strings and which is highly energetic, auspicious and divine is revered in all its glory and extensiveness. The lord who rests in middle of this kalachakra is in his full potential take the form of virat purushan, Vishnu moorthy and chaturvimsasthi forms. Chakdrabja mandala pooja is done as an offering to please all these forms.

This is a very rare ritual performed in Thiruvanathapuram Padmanabhswamy temple often. Performance of this ceremony attracts all blessings from Sriman Narayana. This sacred ritual is highly complex and can be performed only by the acharya (tantri) of the temple.
